Mangalore: The indefinite hunger strike of PDF youth looking for a career in MRPL entered the 18th day with leaders of political parties and other organisations extending their support to the trainees over 300.
Jagadish Shenava of VHP and an advocate asked MRPL/ONGC to recruit immediately the 186 youths who had completed their training, in his protest speech made today at DCO gates. He also demanded that the other 188 youths completing their training soon, should be given a written assurance by the (MRPL) Company on jobs, as per earlier understanding.
DYFI President Munir Katipalla insisted that the 2 companies should provide Rs.30 lakhs per student, as the compensation in case the Companies fail to provide jobs. The protests will intensify after March 21, he declared.
P.V.Mohan, Yadava Shetty and Ivan D’Souza were present at the venue of protest.
