Bangalore: The dissident Yeddyurappa faction in the state BJP has set a three day ultimatum to Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda to call a Legislative party meeting, thereby challenging the leadership of Gowda.
The dissidents, who had met at the residence of PWD minister CM Udasi on the pretext of a tea party, demanded that the chief minister concede to their longstanding demands.
Udasi also said that the meeting discussed the issue of replacing Gowda by Rural Development Minister Shettar, and added that they would be meeting party higher-ups in Delhi and discussing the matter with them.
Asked what would be their next strategy if the demand was not fulfilled despite the ultimatum, Udasi said “just wait for three days.”
