Mangalore : The District Administration has appealed to the state government to release a sum of Rs 5 crores immediately towards the flood relief works in the district.
This was informed by Deputy Commissioner N Prakash at a review meeting held at the ZP auditorium on July 6, Saturday.The DC also elaborated on the various measures taken by the administration to mitigate the hardships of the flood affected people.
Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP who presided over the function took note of the inadequacies of boats to assist people during floods in the district and said the police department would forth proposals for two boats each costing Rs 10 lakhs.
Information regarding loss of property due to floods was provided by the respective taluk panchayat executive officers.
Koragappa Naik, ZP Chief, Rithesh Shetty, ZP Vice President, were also present.
