Mangalore :  S Ramesh, Chairman of Mangalore Urban Development Authority, inaugurated  the DK District Badminton Championship 2012 organised at the U Srinivas Mallya Indoor Court  in Mangalore on December 1, Saturday. The event has been organised by the Dakshina Kannada District badminton Association

A Sadananda Shetty, President of DK District Basketball Association, Ramananda Rao, Vice President, Ashok Poovaiah, former international badminton player were present as chief guests.

Nearly 300 players are taking par in the event which is being held under different categories  for both boys and girls in the under 13, under 16, under 19 categories. There will also be an open category singles and doubles for men), above 45 Masters category (doubles only) and Open Mixed doubles category.

The event will conclude on December 2, Sunday. Prizes will be awarded to winners on this occasion.
