Mangalore : State BJP on the recommendation of BJP district unit expels BJP state executive committee member Srikar Prabhu for the term of six years for indulging in anti-party activities during the Lok Sabha elections.
Apart from it, the party has also expelled noted advocate P P Hegde from his post and responsibility as the chief of BJP National Security Cell for the same reason.
In the release, the district BJP said that Srikar Prabhu has been removed for the unexpected events took place during the elections.
The decision to expel P P Hegde from his post was passed by BJP state chief Raghunathrao Melkapure, while the expulsion of Srikar Prabhu will come into effect as per the order passed by state BJP president Prahlad Joshi.
Although the party did not give the exact reason for expulsion, the decision was in wake of controversial CD release containing call records made by BJP MP Nalin Kumar Kateel to a woman for a period of time. The case has been also filed against Sudatta Jain and P P Hegde for conspiring against MP.
Speaking on the occasion, P P Hegde said that the part itself had asked to take responsibility of its National Security Cell and he doesn’t care about expulsion, since he does not hold any primary membership of the party. He also said that Nalin Kumar Kateel has no moral values and supported him only because I wished to see Narendra Modi becoming the Prime Minister.
