Mangalore : DK unit of Bharatiya Janata Party along with the delegation led by BJP district president Prathap Simha Nayak, submitted a memorandum to the Governor H R Bharadwaj through the Deputy Commissioner on April 28, Monday, accusing Congress government to be partial towards the minority community in connection with the Kabeer shootout case.
In the memorandum, the BJP stated that the state government which was hesitating to provide the compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the family of Mallikharjun Bhande, PSI of Station Bazaar Police Station, Gulbarga, who was killed while on duty, but in the shootout case of cattle trafficker Kabeer, the state government has declared to provide the amount of Rs 10 lakh, even before the CBI probe.
It also stated that Kabeer who was cattle trafficker had tried to flee, as the ANF police stopped him for enquiry, so it was natural that the policemen open fire to take action against the person who tried to escape. Hence imposing murder case on the cop is not right, he added.
State government has proved that it supports and protects the criminal with the arrest of ANF constable, he added.
