Members of District Congress submitted a memorandum to Seemanth Kumar Singh

Mangalore : Members of District Congress submitted a memorandum to Seemanth Kumar Singh, Commissioner of Police, demanding investigation on the matter regarding the assault on TV news channel representative by Bajrang Dal activists, on June 22, Tuesday.

The members of Bajarang Dal assaulted the Journalists including Sukesh, a TV channel news reporter in front of the Suratkal Police station, who came to collect details on the illegal diesel storage case.

The Congress members urged, the commissioner enquire on the matter and criticized the behaviour of Suratkal Police, during the incident.

Speaking to media persons, MLA U T Khader, said that the Congress party strongly condemns the attack on journalists. Though the police officials struggle to arrest the attacker with difficulty, one single order from Home Minister and Chief Minister will make the case withdraw, which is shameful act. Hence, strict investigation must be conducted, he added.

Congress members like Ivan D’Souza, T.K Sudhir, Ashith Pereira and Ahmed Bava Bajal were present.
