Mangalore : The members of Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee celebrated the 94th birth anniversary of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on Nov 19, Saturday.

DKCC president and Bantwal MLA B Ramanath Rai paid floral tribute to the portrait of late Indira Gandhi at District Congress Office.

Rai said that Indira Gandhi initiated public financial institutions, which have made the country’s economy resilient and stable. Her charismatic personality has impacted not only her own country, but also the rest of the world, he added.

Local Congress leaders like KS Mohammad Masood, TK Sudhir and Ibrahim Kodijal and others were present.
