Mangalore: The DK district Congress observed the birth anniversary of Late Rajiv Gandhi, former Prime Minister and Late Devraj Urs Former Chief Minister of Karnataka in the office on August 20, Friday.

Speaking on the occasion District Congress President Ramanath Rai, said that though Rajiv Gandhi entered without any aim he shined at international levels. He worked for the development of information technology and education. He also initiated the voting rights for youths and amendment in Panchayat Raj Law to revive panchayats.

Though the opposition party of BJP is questioning the ruling of party in power is pretending to be unheard. The BJP is trying to malign us. They have gained success through their words and not by deeds. So far no houses have been given to the common people in these three years.

Congress leaders like Ivan D’Souza, Kallige Taranatah Shetty, Vijay Kumar Shetty, Suresh Ullal, Sadashiva Ullal, Moideeen Bava, Ashok Kumar, Mamatha Gatti and others were present.
