Mangaluru : District Congress President and MLC Harish Kumar has condemned BJP volunteers meddling in the vaccination center.

Addressing press persons here on June 2, Wednesday, he alleged that BJP workers run the show at the vaccination centre. We demand that the vaccination system should be streamlined in vaccination centres by deploying officials for this purpose. Other than government officials, none else including the BJP workers need to stay at the centres to serve the people. If there is shortage of staff, let the officials on leave be given the work. The authorities are not justified in allowing the BJP workers to function in vaccination centers in the guise of shortage of staff.

He said only officials should be present and BJP workers should not be allowed to be present at the vaccination centre. He also alleged that there was favouritism and that BJP workers and those close to the party MLA were prioritised.

Former MLA J R Lobo who also spoke alleged that the BJP had failed in effective implementation of the vaccination drive.
