Mangalore : District Election Observor AK Monnappa convened a meeting of senior officials of the district administration as well as the police department to oversee arrangements for the  local administrative body elections.

In his address, Monnappa directed the police intelligence wing to be more alert. He also said there need to be better understanding between officials and staff on election duty.

He also said action would follow against those officials who neglected election duties.The Election Observor also said peace committee meetings should be held  in areas where hyper sensitive booths are located.
