Mangalore : District in charge minister inaugurated the women’s Park Vanitha Vana’ located at Hat Hill near Air India Office on August 22, Monday.
Speaking at the formal function, he said that this park will be the model park in the state. Though the park is located in 1 and half acre of land, there will be lot of visitors in future.
He also said that since there is necessity to protect and preserve the environment, the park is designed giving natural taste of environment. If required more space in future, the land acquisition will be done.
The fund of Rs 2 lakh each from MP fund, MLA fund and District in charge fund will be given for the development of the park, he said.
ZP CEO Dr K N Vijayaprakash said that altogether there are 28 parks in the city and the amount of Rs 45 lakhs has been reserved for the development. The park ‘Vanitha Vana’ is devoted specially for the women and children. The park has been designed by Venkatesh Pai of Pai Lands and the landscape of Rs 25 lakhs will be done. The parks is been provided with seats for the visitors.
Futher the park will be upgraded with library for women and children, health centre, light instrumental music, Radio office and other facilities, so that women can spend her time alone or with her friends in the park. The women security will be appointed for the park, he added.
Deputy speaker N Yogesh Bhat, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Mayor Praveen Anchan, Deputy Mayor Geetha Nayak, Former mayor Shashidhar Hegde and other were presnt.
