Mangaluru : District Administration and Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayath jointly organized Dakshina Kannada District level Dasara Sports meet 2016 at Mangala Stadium September 10, Saturday.

Chief Whip of Legislative Council Ivan D’Souza inaugurated the event. Speaking on the occasion, he said that village children need to be encouraged in the sports field. Schools and colleges too should give equal encouragement to sports as part of their extra curricular activities, he added.

Students from Sullia, Belthangady, Bantwal, Puttur and Mangaluru taluks are participating in the event.

MLA JR Lobo, Deputy Commissioner Jagadeesh, ADC Kumar and others were present.
