Mangalore: A district level Kabaddi tournament  organised by the Dakshina Kannada Amateur Kabaddi Association,  was inaugurated by senior Congress leader B Janardhan Poojari.

Speaking on the occasion, he stressed on the need to encourage young talents in the field of sports. There is also a need for the government to provide more patronage to sports, he added.

Poojari also had a praise for entrepreneur Vijaynath Shetty who recently joined the Congress, for his initiative in organizing rural sports events every year.

He said he would be offering a cash prize of Rs 3000 on his own  to the first place winner.
A Sadananda Shetty, Chairman of Sridevi Education Trust, presided over the function.
