Moodabidiri: District level men’s and women’s Karate and Ball Badminton 2016-17 competitions were inaugurated by businessman Narayan P M, on Thursday at Mahaveer College Moodabidiri.

Speaking on the occasion Narayan said that sports and education have prime importance in today’s life. “It is also important to give importance to sports along with academics,” he said.

MLA Abhaychandra Jain said that due to lack of nutritious food, sportsman are lacking in achieving something big.

“When sportsmen are provided with other facilities along with financial aid from the government, then they can achieve a lot of things. I will try my level best to bring aid for state level Volley Ball tournament which will be held at Ujire, BElthangady,” he added.

District PU board Assistant Director K R Thimmamiah, Shashidhar Mani, Principal Chandrashekhar Dixit and others were present.
