Mangalore : In order to meet the increasing demand for milk in the district and to ensure speedy supply of milk to the consumers, the DK District Co-operative Milk Producers Union has installed a high speed milk packing machine that can pack 8000 to 10000 packets of milk in an hour.
The new machinery was inaugurated at the DK District Milk Producers Co-operative Union here on July 15, Monday by MN Rajendra Kumar, SCDCC Bank Chief.
In his address, Rajendra Kumar appreciated the move of the Union and its efforts to maintain quality of the products. He said dairy farming is not a very encouraging profession for farmers these days and at the same time pointed out that the subsidy of Rs 4 per litre of milk provided by the government to the farmers has been encouraging.
Raviraj Hegde, President of DK District Co-operative Milk Producers Union and Dr BV Satyanarayana, Managing Director also spoke on the occasion.
It was informed on the occasion that the Union will introduce Cashew burfi during co-operative week and will also hold special sales schemes and lucky customers who purchase Nandini products can win gold, silver coins and other attractive prizes.
