Mangalore : The Dakshina Kannada Co-operative Milk Producers Union Mangalore organized a programme to release the ‘Nandini Shubam Milk’ and ‘Nandini Paneer’ at Subramanya Sabha Bhavan, Kodialbail on August 16, Monday.
Speaking after releasing the ‘Nandini Shubam Milk’ packet on the occasion, District in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar said that, no other companies can compete with KMF in the production of Nandini Milk. Today Milk production is the largest business; hence all the people of Mangalore must get the required quantity of milk to consume.
He also said that, KMF needs to be encouraged by the people more. The State is successful in imposing Anti – cow slaughter bill, which helps in getting more quantity of milk. This year there is increase of 10,000 liters of milk production, he added.
The government has given 83 acres of land for KMF for growing grass which will be used to feed the cows. Further if the organization needs more land, it will be provided later, he informed.
In the inaugural address, B Nagaraj Shetty, chairman of Coastal Development Authority, said that the government has increased the rate of the milk and is giving Rs 2 as the subsidy to profit the milk producers.
The matter has been discusses with the president of KMF to give milk at cheap rates to Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and North Karnataka and simultaneously provide profit to the producers, he informed.
MLA Yogesh Bhat released the new product ‘Nandini Paneer’ on the occasion.
Former presidents of the Union Sitaram Rai, GS Dixit, Kaup Diwakar Shetty and Chandrashekar Shetty, managing director were present on the occasion.
