Mangalore: The Dakshina Kannada Co operative Milk Producers Union will celebrate its silver jubilee celebration at the premises of Mangalore Dairy on May 8, Sunday said Raviraj Hegde, president of DK Milk Union.
Speaking at the press meet held at KMF on May 4, Wednesday he said that Dr V S Acharya, higher education minister will lay the foundation stone for the new manufacturing unit worth Rs 20 crore.
Deputy Speaker N Yogesh Bhat will inaugurate the programme. G Somashekhar Reddy, president, Karnataka Milk Federation, Bangalore will launch the 400 gram curd packet. A S Premnath will inaugurate the new scheme for calf husbandry at the cost of Rs 25 lakhs. District incharge minister Krishna J Palemar will honour the presidents who worked for the welfare of the union. While Energy minister Shobha Karandlaje will honour the co-ordinators and directors of the union.
Udupi MP DV Sadananada Gowda will distribute the prizes for the winners of Nandini quiz contest. Dakshina Kannada MP Malin Kumar Kateel will honour the best dealers of the union.
Lakshman Savadi, cooperation minister, State Government will release the souvenir.
Other ministers and leaders will participate in the inaugural function as well as the valedictory function at 2 pm.
