Mangalore: As part of the Lok Sabha election campaign, the district Congress organised a padayatra from Thokkottu to Kulur Junction on Friday, March 14.

B Ramanatha Rai, District in-charge Minister flagged off the padayatra at the Veera Maruthi Vyayama Shale at Thokkottu. The candidate of DK constituency B Janardhana Poojary received the party flag.

Speaking at the occasion B Janardhana Poojariy said, BJP campaigning in the name of Narendra Modi, they not campaigning for Nalin Kumar. BJP says if modi become Prime Minister India gets better status in the world. Everyone knows what has happened in Gujarat. There has not been any development work. 40 percent of the people are unemployed in Gujarat, he said.

MLA J R Lobo and other leaders spoke on the occasion.

UT Khader, State Minister for Health and Family Welfare, MLA, Vijaykumar Shetty, former MLA, Mahabala Maarla, mayor, Ivan D’Souza, P.V. Mohan, Kanachur Monu, Mithun Rai, Ashith Pereira and Taranath Rai were present among others.
