Mangalore : The members and leaders of the DK District Congress Committee staged a protest in front of the DC’s office on July 23, Saturday condemning the act of state government of tapping of Justice N. Santhosh Hegde’s phone lines and the leakage of the Lokayukta report.
Addressing the protestors, MLA Ramanath Rai flayed the BJP-led state government for the leakage of the mining report and said that this matter must be handed over to the CBI investigation.
He said many ministers of UPA government are suspended from the post and are behind the bars for their involvement in various scams, but the corrupt ministers of the Karnataka state government such as the Reddy brothers, Halappa, Renukacharya, and others not taken action.
Vijayakumar Shetty, the former MLA, compared the BJP-led state government to Hitler rule and questioned the RSS’s silence regarding the corrupt activities within its political arm.
Mulky – Moodubidri MLA Abhayachandra Jain, Ivan D’Souza, Mamatha Gatti, and other Congress leaders, Congress workers, and members of the Youth Congress were also present.
