Mangalore : The DK District Home guard’s staffs under the aegis of CITU staged 24 Dharani Satyagraha urging to fulfill various demands put forth by them on Aug 13, Monday.
Addressing the protestors, Dalita Hakkugala Horata Samithi president Lingappa Nanthoor said that the Home guard departments who are serving the country are being cheated from governmental facilities.
Kumari Renuka Kateel, convener of Horata Samithi said that Home Guard commandant Nidarsh Hegde has harassed the home guard staffs and not given the salary given to the staffs worked during Bajpe Airport, Independence day, Rajyotsava, Shivaratri, Mahanavami, Krishnastami, Ganesh Chathurthi, Ramzan and other function.
She demanded minimum wages to increase to Rs 500 as daily wages, give permanent job, governmental security, ration cards to staffs, provide house or quarters, medical facilities, bus facility at night and other demands.
