Mangaluru: “21st Dakshina Kannada Jilla Sahitya Sammelana will be held from January 27 to 29 at Sri Janardhana Swamy temple premises, Ujire. Haveri Folk University Chancellor Dr K Chinnappa will be presiding over the literary convention,” said Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Pradeep Kumar Kalkura.

Addressing the press personnel on Tuesday, he said that ‘Clean language, Clean Life and Clean India’ will be the theme of the convention. Ujire Jumma Masjid preacher Abusufiyan H I Ibrahim will be hoisting the flag.

“Karnataka Sahitya Academy President Malathi Pattana Shetty will be inaugurating the convention on Jan 27 at evening 5. Cultural programmes will be inaugurated by MLA Vasanth Bangera. District in-charge Minister Ramanath Ri, Dharamasthala Dharmadhikari DR D Veerendra Heggade, Writer Nadoja Sara Aboobakkar and other delegates will grace the occasion with their presence,” he said.

He further said that felicitation programme has been organised for the achievers from the district during the occasion. Moreover, children’s literary convention will be organised at SDM Indraprastha Auditorium.
