Mangaluru : The JD(S) in Dakshina Kannada district has submitted a list of seat aspirants to party high command for Upcoming lokasabha elections.

The list of aspirants submitted by the JD(S) district committee includes the names of MLCs BM Farooq, SL Boje Gowda, leaders MB Sadashiva and Susheel Noronha.

JD(S) district president Mohammed Kunhi said the list of aspirants for Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency has been submitted to party Supremo HD Deve Gowda, chief minister HD Kumaraswamy and party president H Vishwanath.

“The party high command has sought a list of suitable candidates for Dakshina Kannada constituency four days ago. Following this, a list of aspirants has been submitted as per high command’s directions. In fact, we have held discussions with party leaders in the district before finalizing the list. We are not sure what decision the party would take. However, we are committed to work for the party. In fact, the party high command has sought list of aspirants from all district in the state,” Mohammed Kunhi said.

He added that the party is prepared for the election in all talukas of the district. “I have spoken to party general secretary YSV Datta, who has agreed to hold taluka level campaigns. Party state leaders will be visiting all talukas in the district. Similarly, party will also hold district level conventions in the coastal region where party chief HD Deve Gowda, leaders HD Kumaraswamy and H Vishwanath will be participating,” he said.

JD(S) leader MB Sadashiva, who name also has been included in the aspirants list, said the party workers in Dakshina Kannada will be united during the campaign even if the constituency was given to Congress. “Our ultimate aim is to save Constitution and thereby save democracy. We will work together for the victory of coalition candidates. Similarly, the Congress will also work for JD(S) candidates,” Sadashiva added.
