Mangaluru : On day two of the winter session of parliament, Dakshina Kannada MP Captain Brijesh Chowta met Union Minister for Railways Shri Ashwini Vaishnav & discussed various concerns pertaining to the crucial railway infrastructure development of the region.
Along with Bengaluru Rural MP Dr CN Manjunath, Udupi Chikamagaluru MP Shri Kota Srinivas Poojary and Uttara Karnataka MP Shri Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri, Captain Brijesh Chowta highlighted various long pending railway issues especially the Mangalore Bangalore connectivity concerns, the Shiradi Ghat stretch among others.
A letter was also submitted seeking the intervention & support of the Hon’ble Union Minister for issues pertaining to
• merger of Konkan Railway with Indian Railways,
• Hassan Mangalore Rail Development Company including doubling of tracks between the two cities that is crucial to better rail connectivity between our region & capital city Bengaluru,
• enhanced passenger facilities on rail routes of our region
• Subramanya Mangalore passenger rail
among others.
Having tweeted about the same, Captain Brijesh Chowta highlighted these concerns in another tweet drawing the attention of the state government to the above mentioned issues.
“In this direction, I request our Karnataka govt led by CM Shri @siddaramaiah to kindly provide the necessary state support for the swift redressal of various concerns pertaining to both Konkan Railways as well as HMRDC to ease movement of both people and cargo in this important stretch between Mangalore and Bangalore” said the quoted tweet.
