Mangalore : As a part of property return parade, the DK rural police returned property worth Rs. 9,99,082 out of Rs. 11,03,082, retrieved in the month of August, July, and October to its owners at the premises of SP office on Nov 14, Sunday.
Dr A. Subrahmanyeshwar Rao, superintendent of police said that in the quarterly property returns parade that the rural police recovered property worth Rs. 62, 68,334 out of the property worth Rs 1,52,03,465, which was said to be stolen.
Around 90 percent of the property has been handed over to the owners, while the remaining property will be handed over after receiving the court order, he added.
He also appealed the public to cooperate with the police in maintaining law and order, since there is shortage of staff.
He also introduced the crime scene investigation kits, which comprises of 64 items such as digital camera, fingerprint kit, voice recorder, rubber gloves and other things given to the district police. The kit will further help the police in investigating the scene in a professional manner, he added.
