Mangaluru : Four students from colleges in Dakshina Kannada are in the first 10 ranks in Medical, Homeopathy, B.Sc (Agri) and Bachelor of Veterinary Science streams in the Common Entrance Test (CET) held last month.
This performance comes a few days after the district ranked first in the II Pre University examinations with a pass percentage of 93 per cent.
Kishore M.S. from Satyasai Lokaseva PU College Alike ranked sixth in the medical/dental and veterinary science streams. Mr. Kishore, who scored 97 per cent marks in II PU examination, stood seventh in homeopathy stream. He is a native of Sirsi.
His classmate Puneeth V. Bhat ranked ninth in the medical/dental and veterinary science streams. Mr. Puneet, who hails from Murudeshwar, scored 564 marks in the II PU examinations.
Two students from Expert PU College are in the B.Sc. (Agri) and homeopathy top lists. Abhin Rai K.S. stood seventh in B.Sc (Agri) stream. Mr. Rai, who secured 96 per cent marks in II PU, ranked 33rd in medical/dental and 59th in engineering.
His classmate S. Dishaa, a native of Bengaluru, stood 10th in homeopathy. She scored 97.7 per cent marks in II PU examinations. She hopes of good results the COMED-K, All India Institute of Medical Sciences and the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research entrance examinations.
With five ranks among the top 10 ranks in the State in CET examinations in its kitty, Udupi district is basking under extended glory after its remarkable performance in this year’s SSLC and II PU results.
Sudeep G.C. of Poornaprajna Pre-University College bagged the eighth rank in medicine and veterinary science, and the sixth rank in homeopathy.
Shishir G. of Viveka PU College, Kota, has bagged the sixth rank in engineering, while Anjali Venugopal from Karkala Jnansudha PU College, Kukkundoor, stood fourth in Architecture.
Udupi district topped the State in the SSLC results with 93.37 per cent this year, coming back from the 16th position in 2013-14. Similarly in II PU results, the district retained its second position in the State with 92.32 per cent this year, losing to Dakshina Kannada just by a 0.77 per cent.
