Mangalore : In order to strengthen the Congress party, the DK District Youth Congress Committee will organize ‘Brahath Youth Awareness Convention’ at Thokkottu Ground of Ullal Constituency on February 2, Wednesday at 4 pm., said Arun Coehlo, president of DK District Youth Congress Committee.
Speaking at the press meet held at district congress office on Jan 28, Friday he said that the campaign was started by Rahul Gandhi and now it has completed in 16 states. Hence the DK District Youth Congress Committee has decided to hold the campaign in Mangalore to increase the youth membership to the party.
He also said that, there are around 70 percent youths in the country, hence this convention will create awareness among the youth about their necessity to involve themselves in the present politics. This will further help to construct a better country, he added.
All India Youth Congress president and MLA Rajeev Sathwa, All India National Congress secretary Jeethendra Singh, KPCC president Dr Parameshwara, Opposition party leader Siddharamayya, former central minister B Janardhana Poojary, former KPCC president D K Shivakumar, MLA Abhaychandra Jain, State Youth Congress Committee president Krishna Byre Gowda, former youth congress president Dinesh Gundu Rao, district congress president Ramanath Rai, former MP Vinay Kumar Sorake and other leaders will participate, he said.
He also said that, On Jan 30, the members will move towards the district to campaign about the convention in two vehicles from Congress office at 10 am.
MLA U T Khader, Vijay Kumar Shetty, Kallige Tharnath Shetty, T K Sudhir, Ivan D’Souza and other were present.
