Mangalore : The DK District Youth Congress Committee will organize “Brihath Youth Awareness Convention” on Thokkottu Grounds at Ullal on Feb 2, Wednesday, at 4:00 p.m. in a bid to strengthen the party.
Speaking at a press meet held at the district office of the Congress party on Feb 1, Tuesday, DK District Congress Committee Vice President and spokesperson Ivan D’ Souza said that this campaign, which will be held under the guidance of MLA Rajeev Sathwa, the president of the All India Youth Congress and Jeethendra Singh, the secretary of the All India National Congress.
As a part of the convention, Congress south and North Block will organize a vehicle rally and around 600 vehicles including two wheelers, three wheelers, Cars, Jeeps and Busses will participate in the rally commencing at 2.30 pm in front of Congress Office. The rally will commence from Congress office and move towards Hampankatta, Jyothi, Mallikatta, Nanthoor, and National Highway, via Mahaveer Circle, Yekkur, Jappinamogaru and reach Thokkottu.
Over 2000 youth’s representatives, NSUI students, leaders, activists and others will participate in the event. He said and added that the purpose of the campaign is to make the youth aware of the need to get involved in current politics and create a better country.
MLA Abhayachandra Jain; Krishna Byre Gowda, the president of the State Youth Congress Committee; MLA Ramanath Rai, the district Congress president; MLA UT Khader, Vasanth Bangera, former MP Vinay Kumar Sorake; and other Congress leaders are expected to participate in the campaign, he said.
Congress leaders Moideen Bawa, Ashok, Denis D’Silva, Santhosh, C Musthafa and T. K. Sudhir were present.
