Mangaluru : Dakshina Kannada Cooperative Milk Union Ltd (DKMUL) observed World Milk Day on Monday by distributing milk and fruit to patients at Government Wenlock Hospital and children at an anganwadi at Jeppu.
Raviraj Hegde, president, DKMUL, accompanied by other officials of the union, distributed milk at the anganwadi. At a function arranged in the office of the DKMUL at Kulashekara, M.N. Rajendra Kumar, president, Dakshina Kannada District Central Cooperative Bank, said that the bank would explore the possibility of issuing debit cards to members of milk producers’ cooperative societies who have their account with the bank. The government credited its incentive per litre of milk to the bank accounts of members of the cooperative societies. Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP, inaugurated an agro-waste based boiler in the premises of the dairy at Kulashekara. Well-performing milk dealers of the union and drivers and other staff were felicitated on the occasion.
