Mangalore: D.K. Shivakumar, till recently executive president, and now secretary of KPCC, met SDM College students in Mangalore to-day and told them that NSUI (Congress) student elections would be held at national and state levels to promote youth leaders into national leaders.
DKS revealed that he came to Mangalore on the instructions of Rahul Gandhi, a national youth Icon. He asked the local students to think of India and work for progressive Indian democracy which sets new standards for other democratic nations.
He spoke about young leaders in society in all walks of life and supported the students’ elections in Colleges, to be the first step for growth of all round leadership.
He said most of the revolutions and achievements had sprung from youth. He referred to the might of presspersons in Mangalore, as shown by CM’s visit today.
Rajith John, incharge of NSUI-Karnataka thanked DKS and appealed to the voting youth population to make use of their power in students’ elections as well.
