Puttur: A physician hailing from Kuttar in the outskirts of Mangalore met a watery grave in the Gundya river in Puttur taluk on May 27, Sunday. The incident took place when the physician Dr Dinesh Amin was at the river banks along with his brother’s family on their return from the pilgrim shrine of Subrahamanya.

It is learnt, Dr Amin lost his balance and slipped into the river while trying to find a suitable place for the children to play. Though local swimmers plunged into the river and bought Dr Amin out, his life could not be saved.
