Mangalore: The Mangalore University has awarded a Ph.D. degree in social work to Loveena Lobo, assistant Professor and HOD of social work at St. Aloysius’ College, handling MSW duties.
The thesis presented various aspects and an impact of parental alcoholism at home, as the basis and progression of such trends in adolescent children who pick up the crumbs, while imitating the social etiquette. Ms Lobo was guided by Ms. Dr. Rameela Shekhar at Roshni Nilaya, jeppu, Mangalore.
Dr.Lobo has discussed about her motivation to reach a defining study of emotional effects on children, of parents depending on alcohol as a daily drink in their presence.
Alcohol use has increased risk at home among young persons, as parental misuse or extravagance in alcohol could damage and disrupt the lives of youths. There is a need to look at this fact with a critical eye, Ms. Lobo stated in a lecture.
