The IMA, Mangalore branch celebrated the Doctors’ day at its Attavara premises, when Prof. T.C Shivashankara Murthy Mangalore Vice Chancellor, was the chief guest. Murthy in a speech mentioned that teaching as a profession and medical service by doctors are highly regarded in Indian society and honoured. The sanctity of such professions must be maintained, he told the Indian Medical Association (IMA) members.
4 prominent doctors, a neurologist Dr. I.G Bhat, Pharmacologist Dr. Parvathi Bhat, ENT surgeon Dr. Y.M Hegde, and chest Physician Dr. D.K Abdul hameed, were felicitated by IMA on this occasion.
In a key note speech, Dr. A.S Mantaganeekar of Hubli explained social security insurance provisions made by Karnataka medical Association.
Dr. K Mukund welcomed the distinguished gathering. Dr. GK Bhat of Sankabithilu proposed the vote of thanks.
IMA Trust chairman Dr. Bhasker Shetty, Secretary Dr. A Divakar Rao and several others were present.
