Mangaluru : The condition of senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Oscar Fernandes is now said to be stable after doctors performed a surgery late night on July 26, Monday.

The renowned neurosurgeon Dr. Sunil Shetty and his team have managed to remove the blood that has clotted in Oscar’s brain.

The operation began at 12.30 midnight on Monday and continued till 4.40 am on Tuesday. Congress leaders like former minister B. Ramanatha Rai, Pratapachandra Shetty, Vinaya Kumar Sorake, PV Mohan and Ashok Kodavur remained in the hospital till the completion of the surgery.

Oscar who is undergoing treatment at the Yenepoya Hospital also underwent dialysis. Doctors have informed that he is now stable.

The Specialist doctors are keeping a close watch on the condition of the senior leader.  Oscar Fernandes to be hospitalised after he fell down while doing Yoga at his home.

On Monday Fr Mathew Vas, Spiritual Director of Catholic Sabha Mangaluru Pradesh along with Bondel Church Priest Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza, Catholic Sabha Central Committee President Stany Lobo, Corporator Naveen D’Souza and others visited the hospital and spoke to Oscar’s wife Blossom Fernandes and other family members.
