Mangaluru: “Think of others while driving or riding. The don’t care attitude leads to accidents most of the time,” said Mangaluru Police Commissioner Chandra Sekhar.
He was addressing the gathering in the concluding ceremony of 28th Road Safety Week with the theme of ‘Your Safety Secures Your Family, Be Cautious On Road’ held at police community hall on Wednesday.
“Road safety week is not restricted for just a week. The awareness should be spread among the public to reduce the rate of accidents. Awareness can be more fruitful than enforcing the traffic rules. Follow the traffic rules strictly and sae from tragedies,” he said.
Mayor Harinath speaking on the occasion said that strict action should be taken by against those who park their vehicles in no parking zone.
SP Bhushan Gulab Rao Borase said that awareness regarding road safety must be brought among the adults and students. Children should request their parents to drive the car wearing seat belts and brothers to rider the bike with helmets on.
