Mangalore: Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s Memorial Day was celebrated with music, dance and songs, also felicitations by BRA Social Cultural Association at the Town Hall in city on Monday (Dec 19).
The evening began with light film songs. KPCC secretary K.P. Nanjundi was the chief guest. Mayor Praveen Anchan (MCC), Bunts Sangha president Ajit K. Rai Maladi, Ullal MLA U.T. Khader, industrialist Purushottam Rai and Congress leader Moedeen Bawa also attended as guests.
Nanjundi was felicitated on the occasion, and he referred to Dr. Ambedkar as a great personality of India and the down-trodden in the world.
Several children were felicitated as artists and awardees, like Khushi, Rashmi, Mehna, Soumya and Dhanush, a prodigy in dancing.
There were comedy shows. Child artist Vijeth Ullal entertained the audience with Kannada songs. Audience were kept asking for more.
