Mangalore : The Kannada and Cultural Department, DK and Bolpu Kala Troupe, Manchi Bantwal jointly observed 64th Death Anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar, at Town Hall on December 6, Monday.
M N Naik, vice president of Marathi Seva Sangha, DK paid the floral tribute to the portarait of Dr B R Ambedkar, who is the father of Indian Constitution and inaugurated the event.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that today the organization has the programme to observe the death anniversary, but hardly many people have recognized it. So only the countable number of people has gathered in the venue, he added.
Ambedkar has not only worked for the welfare of the Dalits and backward class, but also worked for the welfare of her county irrespective of caste, he said.
Further this kind of programmes must be conducted in schools and colleges, in order to respect and remember the great leader. The organization must try to hold such kind of prgrammes in future too and gather more number of interested people, he informed.

Padmanabha Moodbidri, Krishna, president of Adidravida Samaja Seva Sangh, P Keshava, state committee member, Karnataka Dalita Sangharsh Samiti, K Gopal Kadumatta, president of Bhaira Samaj Seva Sangha, DK were present as the chief guest on the occasion.
Koragappa Shingarakodi, convener of Bolpu Kala Troupe, Manchi delivered the introductory speech on the occasio.
