Mangaluru : Twenty-four personnel of the State Police Department will be conferred the President’s Police Medal for distinguished and meritorious service on Republic Day. Deputy Superintendent of Police Dr H N Venkatesh Prasanna is one police personnel who will be conferred with Police Medal for Meritorious Service by the President of India on the occasion of Republic Day.

Dr Prasanna also won the chief minister’s gold medal for distinguished service twice. He has served in City Crime Bureau, Directorate of Civil Rights Enforcement besides other positions.

He also secured a PhD for his thesis on the ‘Police System in pre-Independence Karnataka’ from the Kannada University in Hampi.
