Mangalore: Dr. Kailkere Mohandas Bhandary, a noted physician of Mangalore, passed away here on June 12, Wednesday. He was 64.
Dr Bhandary was the Founder President of Family Doctors Association (R), Mangalore and had also served as the president of IMA Mangalore Branch. He had even successfully conducted IMA Medicon, a state level conference in 2010 as President of Mangalore branch of IMA.
Hailing from Kundapur, Dr Bhandary did his MBBS at Mysore Medical College. Initially he started Bhandary Clinic & Nursing Home at Gundlupet in Chamarajanagar and later set up Bhandary Clinic & Clinical Lab at City Market Shopping Complex at Market Road in Mangalore. He founded the Bhandary Education Trust which operated three ambulances. He had also won the Doctors Day Award 2008-2009. He had also won the best IMA President at National Level for the year 2009-2010 and had received the award at Jaipur, Rajasthan.
He was also the District Vice President, Dakshina Kannada Cricket Association (DKCA) & Chairman, Cricket Stadium Committee; and was also active in various organizations.
Dr. Bhandary is survived by his wife Lalitha and three sons, all well settled.
