Mangalore, Jun 11: Dr M Shantharam Shetty, vice-chancellor, Nitte University, inaugurated the event the new Vikas PU College held at Town Hall on Monday June 11.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that Education in Dakshina Kannada is like Boston of World. He also said that the two year life of students in Pre University College is most precious since that is the time to decide on the life of students to move towards a professional field.
He also said that students must have self conflict, which will help to become the achievers in life. With all the effort of educationist, Mangalore will be the best education centre in the world and Vikas College will bloom with the finest educational institution in city.
Chief guests Gopal Hosur, IGP (Intelligence), Bangalore, said that today more than children, parents have exam tension. Children will not have interest in education due to parental stress.
He also said that out of 126 crore population, 35 percent are under 15 age group and this statistics will continue for few years and in this situation, the need good education.
Guests of honour Dr Kaverappa, ex-vice chancellor of Mangalore University, when a school is opened, it’s like closing a jail. So education is important to everyone.

Dr D Sripathi Rao, correspondent, Vikas PU College said Vikas College will be operating on a large campus at Mary Hill in collaboration with Expert Coaching with the aim of benefiting the students with superior quality PU education, Vikas Education Trust is initiating Vikas PU College.
He also said that the students in Vikas PU College will have the advantage of being coached by experienced lecturers of Expert Coaching Institution at the campus itself.
Including English (mandatory), Hindi, Kannada, and Sanskrit in the language section, there will be two combinations of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Computer Science.
The college has permission to admit 240 students in three batches, with 80 students in each batch, he said. Already 130 students have been enrolled.
Dr K Rajendra, principal, Vikas P U College, and Parthasarathi, CEO, were present on the dais.
