Udupi : Dr. Satheesha Nayak Alambi, Professor from Manipal Academy of Higher Education gets World recognition as one of the leading Scientists.
Dr. Satheesha Nayak B, Professor of Anatomy, Melaka Manipal Medical College (Manipal Campus) is listed as one among the top 2% Scientists of India as per a survey conducted by a team of researchers from Stanford University. The listing was based on the total number of research papers published in Scopus indexed journals and their citation index. While getting a place in top 2% Indian Scientists, Dr. Nayak is placed at 117th position in the world ranking. It is noteworthy that he is one among the only two Indian Anatomists who got a place in the list. Dr. Nayak has contributed to about 400 research articles in various prestigious journals, out of which 195 are published in Scopus indexed journals. Dr. Nayak has bagged two state level gold medals and the prestigious Dr. TMA Pai gold medal for his research publications. Apart from this, he has also bagged “Good teacher award” for 7 times and awards for “best audio-visual materials” several times. Dr. Nayak is also an active reviewer for several journals. He has also bagged “Sentinel of Science” award for his reviews by Publons. Dr. Nayak has guided several PhD projects and four of his co-authored publications have also bagged the prestigious Dr. TMA Pai gold medals.
Born in a very poor family, he was an alumnus of Govt Higher Primary school 80 Badagabettu, Parkala High School, Manpal Junior College, Mahathma Gandhi Memorial College, Udupi and Kasturba Medical College, Manipal. He is the proud son of Sri Vittala Nayak and Lakshmi Nayak Alambi, 80 Badagabettu.
