Mangalore : Head of the Yenapoya Medical College Orthopedics dept. Dr. M. Sudhakar Shetty was felicitated on Wednesday and given the Doctors’ Day Award last week. He is the only DK.Dt Medical person to secure the coveted award in  DK Udupi dts.
The Award was presented to him by the state at the Jnana Jyothi auditorium of the Central College in memory of Dr. Bidhana Chandra Roy, late CM of Bengal and Governor later. The award recognizes Dr. Shetty’s excellent services to the people and for his own academic greatness. The award had a citation and plaque.
Dinesh Gunda Rao presided. Governor H.R Bhardwaj  inaugurated the D-day celebrations. Ministers Dr. V.S. Acharya and Ramachandra Gowda were present. Dr. C.N. manjunath who made the selection, secretary Vittal Murthy, Director of Medical Education, Dr. A.R. Aruna and V-C Dr. S. Ramananda Shetty among others attended the Doctors’ Day celebrations
