Dharwad: Dr.Veerendra Heggade of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala was welcomed by elders of Rayanala village when he arrived for a review of rural works in Devaragudihala in Hubli taluk of Dharwad district today. He went round some other villages also where local people received him in a warm way. He discussed all aspects of rose cultivation, incomes, organic compost, marketing of roses, kinds of roses etc. at the rose garden of Basavva Madevidasar in Devaragudihala rural area. Dr,Heggade visited several rose gardens cultivated by women and obtained more information by discussions with growers.
He participated in a mango garden meeting, covering local progress on agriculture, with officials of planning section present. He told the listeners to get rid of “mental poverty’ first, to remove financial poverty in rural region. He obtained all required information from officials as well as farmers.
Taluk Panchayath members and planners were present at the meeting held in the Mnago park of Qasimsab Lad-sab.
