Bengaluru : People of Karnataka are very happy at the nomination of Dr. Veerendra Heggade for Rajya Sabha. His vast experience would benefit the country, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said.
Speaking to media persons Bommai said, Mr. Heggade has been serving the people for over four decades not only as the Dharmadhikari of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala, but has taken up various welfare programmes all over the state. His rural development programme has been a huge success.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has nominated him to Rajya Sabha after recognising his contribution for the society in taking public welfare programmes in health, education, clean drinking water units, rejuvenation of lakes, financial assistance for women self help groups, distribution of farm equipments and science, Bommai said.
Dr Heggade would raise the quality of debates in the Rajya Sabha to higher levels through his knowledge, Bommai said.
