Udupi: Dr. R. Vishal, who is Commissioner of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, will take charge as Deputy Commissioner of Udupi district.

Reportedly, present DC S.S. Pattana Shetty who had just took charge last month, has been transferred and posted as the Commissioner of the Food and Civil Supplies Department.

The new DC Dr Vishal, is an IAS officer of the 2004 batch has served as the DC of Chikkaballapur and Additional Commissioner (Elections) in BBMP. He has also served in other departments like revenue, health and finance.

He is also a medical doctor by qualification and has done his MBBS from KIMS in Hubli.
