Mysore:  Dr. Y.S. Siddegowda took charge as the Registrar of Karnataka State Dr. Gangubai Hangal Music and Performing Arts University in Mysore yesterday from outgoing Registrar and incharge Vice-Chancellor Dr. M. Basavanna.

Dr. Siddegowda assumed charge following transfer order issued by S.R. Revanna, Secretary, Department of Higher Education, on March 5. Dr. Siddegowda, who has previously worked as Registrar, Karnataka Sanskrit University in Bangalore, was presently working as a Professor in the Department of Studies in Social Work, University of Mysore.

A native of Channapatna in Ramanagar district, Dr. Siddegowda completed his education from Mysore University. He has also worked as Director of Student Welfare, University of Mysore and Director of University Industry Interaction Centre.

Following the completion of Dr. Hanumanna Nayaka Dore’s term as Vice-Chancellor of the University, Dr. Siddegowda is also the in-charge VC.
