Mangaluru: Getting drinking water project for Dakshina Kannada is one the main objective said newly appointed chief whip of Karnataka Legislative council Ivan D’Souza.
Addressing the media personnel at MCC on Thursday he said that to give a permanent solution for the water scarcity in the district getting drinking water project is important.
“The drinking water problem can be fixed if A G Kodagi report is implemented,” he said.
He further said that there is a good rainfall here in DK, but in some places destruction is also seen.
“I have directed DC to take action on time during any undesirable incidents. Rs 200 crore worth project will be brought to DK to prevent the coastal line from sea erosion,” he added.
Later, he thanked CM Siddaramaiah for considering him as a suitable person for the post of chief whip of Karnataka Legislative council and he said that he will put his 100 percent to work efficiently in the post.
Commenting on the Central cabinet reshuffling, he said that Karnataka could have got powerful portfolios, but the infighting in the state BJP has impacted on it.
