Puttur: A drunken man attacked on his wife with machete on Tuesday night. The injured wife has been admitted to the Puttur government hospital.

Janaki (38) is the injured woman. Her husband Kushal had a habit of drinking He started scolding Janaki on Tuesday night.

“When my younger son Krishnappa objected the behaviour of my husband, he tried to kill him using machete. I came in between to stop the fight, but he attacked on me. The machete landed on my head,” said Janaki.

She further informed that the machete broken into two pieces due to the attack and one piece remained inside of my head. Doctors operated the head to remove it.

Sampya police have registered the case.
