Mangalore : In a ghastly accident at least two people were killed and six caused serious injuries, when the car they were travelling rammed into an oncoming lorry on National Highway 48 near Addyar-Kannur on March 11, Friday at 9:15 pm.
The victims have been identified as Nazeer and Abdullah residents of BC Road, Shabbir and Mushtaq Rahmath residents of Bantwal.
A large number of local people gathered in the spot which resulted in traffic jam on the high way for half an hour.
Reportedly, the accident occurred when the drunken driver of the lorry lost control over his vehicle and rammed into the car which was moving towards BC Road from the city, crushed under the wheels of the lorry.
An ambulances which reached on the spot, shifted the dead bodies and injured to different hospitals in the city for post-mortem and emergency treatment. A case has been registered in Mangalore rural police station.
