Mangalore : The Dalitha Sangharsha Samithi has urged the district administration to provide at least Rs 5 lakhs as compensation to  the next of kin of those who died in the Bajpe landslide wherein a compound wall crashed into a house at Thottilaguri recently.

 M Devadas, State Convenor of the Samithi who spoke to reporters said  the Rs 1.5 lakh compensation was very less. He complained that the shelter presently provided to the affected families was not good and urged the government to provide them land and houses in Kenjar village.
